Terms of Use

These terms are between you and Mustafa Ebiclioglu, United States, the operator of Split the Receipt. Last updated 7 September 2026.

What the service does

Split the Receipt reads a receipt, lets a group say who had what, and calculates each person's share. That is all it does. It does not hold, transfer, request or confirm any payment, and it is not a payment service.

Check the numbers

A receipt is read by an automated system and it can get things wrong: a smudged price, a missed line, a tax read as a fee. The person who paid is responsible for checking the parsed receipt against the paper one before sharing it, and everybody is responsible for checking their own items before settling up. The calculated amounts are a convenience, not an authoritative bill.

Names and links are not identity

Anyone holding an invitation link can open that bill and take an available name. The app does not verify who anybody is. Share links only with the people who were actually there.

Payment usernames are typed in by hand and are not verified either. Before sending money, check the name and username shown against what you know about the person. Sending money to the wrong account is not something this service can reverse.

Acceptable use

Beta software

This is a beta. Features can change, bills can be affected by defects, and the service is provided as is, without warranty. Keep your own record of anything that matters to you.

Closing your account

You can delete your account inside the app at any time. The operator may suspend an account that is being used to abuse the service or other people.
